Students of the Week Friday October 11th

While this week’s assembly was a little shorter with the visit of the Exploration Dome and GAA Coaching with Eugene we still had time to learn about many nice things that happened throughout the past week in and around our school. We learned how many of our older students are setting a great example to our younger students, showing great maturity inside of and outside class whilst taking part wholeheartedly in all school activities. As always, we heard of students who are making great strides and of those who perform each week consistently well.

We learned of students who consistently work very hard and of those who have learned to wait their turn when answering questions and others who in the past loved to talk/chat have become more patient and understanding. One of our students this week has also displayed a very positive attitude to ‘Gaeilge’ and has made great progress in recent times setting the bar very high in their classroom. Finally, we heard glowing tributes to one of this week students which highlighted that they are always nice to everyone and of an excellent student who has settled into his new school with ease! We cant ask any more than that!

Well done to all the students chosen this week, we’re really proud of the great effort you’ve made. Maith sibh!

Students of the Week Friday September 27th

We had another exciting assembly earlier this afternoon reflecting on another very busy week at school! From Music to the Mayo Cross Country finals to exploring our whole school theme of a ‘Journey to Space’ we haven’t had time to draw breath.

As always, it was really difficult for the teachers to make their decision for Students of the Week with so many putting their names forward through their hard work and excellent behaviour.
This week’s students were recommended for a variety of very positive reasons. These ranged from continuously being in great form , working happily each day and having a great impact on classmates, to working very hard with their ‘Gaeilge’ and being kind to others and also to a great improvement in listening to their teacher. Others have settled into their new class with ease and continued where they left off last year while it was also lovely to hear of students who’ve settled so well into their new school. Recommendations also included students making a huge effort to improve handwriting/presentation and setting a great example to younger students by word and action.

Well done to all who were selected – we are very proud of you.
