Students of the Week Friday December 5th

What a hectic week we’ve just had! We’re in the middle of preparing for the Parish Christmas Carol Service, carol singing in the Square, our Christmas Play, our visits to the local Nursing Homes and ensuring our Christmas Cards got off to print earlier in the week. All this while squeezing in the important learning/classwork that is central to what we do!

Obviously we ask a lot of the students at this busy time of the year and we were delighted with the response we received at all levels. The students selected this week have all excelled in their preparation for the busy Christmas schedule, continuously giving their best effort and working well. A lovely comment from one teacher this week reported that the student they selected has a very positive influence on their classmates, is always nice to those around her and gets on very well with everyone. High praise indeed!

We also had excellent recommendations based on great improvements in reading, writing, handwriting and about a student who continuously works well even when things are difficult. Always giving their best.

It was really great this week to hear from all the teachers, that working well with others was so important in all classes especially at this time when it’s very much all hands on deck! This is very much a life skill which we’re sure will stand to all of our students going forward!

Finally another busy week lies ahead…

Monday December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. All classes from 1st to 6th will attend 12 Midday Mass accompanied by their teachers.

The Parish Christmas Carol Service will take place on Wednesday evening December 10th at 7 p.m. Further details of the evening’s events (times/clothing etc) will follow in a circular to all parents on Monday.

As mentioned last week, we will sing Christmas Carols in the Square on Saturday December 13th. The blessing of the crib is now at 1.30 p.m. We will sing either side of the blessing before finishing on time for all the children to participate in the Elf Trail at 2 p.m. Details will again follow of this event in Monday’s circular.

Finally our Christmas Concert will take place on Wednesday December 17th at 7 p.m. This year we will also have a matinée performance on Tuesday afternoon December 16th at 12.30 p.m. The children are working very hard preparing for what promises to be a wonderful night!
