Firstly, well done to our Junior Infants who experienced their first week of long school days to 2.05pm this week. They have all settled so well into our school. We are delighted having them with us a little longer each day!
The teachers this week had a very difficult time choosing their respective ‘Students of the Week’ as many students throughout the school really put themselves forward through their hard work and excellent attitude.
Lovely comments for this week’s group included that the students had listened so well, completing all their exercises with great care and attention, while working consistently hard in every subject. We were also delighted to hear that they had been kind and considerate to their classmates and teachers. Other students have moved to our school and settled with us as if they had always been here making a big impact on their classmates and teacher.
We often mention to the students that not everything will always be easy for any of us and that there will be times when topics or areas of school are difficult. We all must battle through these times and this week we were delighted that teachers mentioned students who had found things difficult in the past but have really grown in confidence of late and displayed a huge willingness to succeed in turn setting a great example to others throughout the school.
Well done to all the students selected and to all our students who worked very hard throughout this past week.
As mentioned in our last post we have had curriculum meetings throughout the past week. Thank you to all who attended these meetings. We really hope you found them informative and useful. The meetings conclude in the coming week with

This coming Thursday will see the boys and girls from 3rd-6th compete in the local primary school cross country competition in Swinford at 10.30 am. The boys and girls have worked hard in preparation for this and we wish them well in their respective events.
Finally thank you and well done to Mr.Rushe’s Sixth Class who prepared so well for our opening school mass earlier. This was a lovely end to another very busy week.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend.
