Huge congrats to our Girls and Boys teams who captured a famous double when winning their respective Cumann na mBunscol finals at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park on Tuesday evening last.

This was an evening that will live long in all our memories with two thrilling finals showcasing wonderful talent, skill, spirit and effort in our young players. So many contributing in so many ways, fantastic team effort.

First up was our Girls team who faced adversity and at one point certain defeat before overcoming a gallant Behy NS, Ballina with a brilliant extra time performance. We are so proud of the girls determination and never say die attitude. They have all made remarkable progress throughout this past year capturing the hearts and minds of all in attendance on finals day! Comhghairdeachas a chailiní.

Our boys followed with victory over Gaelscoil na Cruaiche, Westport. A very strong first half performance provided the platform for an excellent team display in difficult conditions with so many again contributing to this brilliant result.

They celebrations and joy in the aftermath from both squads was very special, shared with wonderful support from fellow students, teachers, family members, past pupils and friends. These moments as the game finished and as we travelled from Castlebar returning to Charlestown and to school will remain with us and hopefully live long in our young players memories.

Special days like Tuesday last do not happen without the input of so many and for this we are so grateful. A very special thank you to our coaches Gemma, Ms.Tierney and Mr.Neary. Thank you also to Mr.Kelly who helped us finals days. We sincerely appreciate your wonderful enthusiasm, time and genuine interest in each of the students. Thank you also to all at Charlestown GAA and LGFA for the wonderful coaching and fantastic support we receive. This is very much appreciated.
