On Wednesday evening last, four senior students represented our school in the Cumann na mBunscol regional Sports Quiz. Congratulations to Freddie, Liam, Tom and Ross who cames second on the evening.

The four boys put up a fantastic fight, in what was a difficult test of Sports knowledge across all areas and disciplines. Ten rounds ranging from GAA to Soccer, Athletics, F1, Horse Racing,  Fast Facts and Results gave a possible full score of 100 points…and the boys scored a fantastic 89! This showed super knowledge on their behalf!

It was wonderful to see competitiveness and sporting interest off “the pitch” and it was also lovely to see many friends from neighbouring schools at the quiz.  We could not be more thankful to our students for their hard work, interest, enthusiasm and superb representation of our school. They make us very proud, as do all of the children in the senior classes who participated in practice and qualifying quizzes this week.

Finally, congratulations to St. Attracta’s NS, Ballaghaderreen who were victorious on the night. Thank you also to Mr.Bracken for all his hard work in the background ensuring young and old had a lovely evening.

We wish the boys well as they progress to the County Final on Wednesday, February 21st in An Sportlann Castlebar.
